Creating the Perfect Staycation!

Paige

A “staycation” is the new vacation. It’s a vacation where you stay home to relax and enjoy the local activities rather than traveling. If you plan to go on an exciting vacation for you and your family, you may book a private jet from Jettly and stay at a five star resort or hotel.

When we go on “the vacation of our dreams,” we immediately think of a luxe hotel room. But let’s consider your bedroom. Your bedroom is a truly special space in your home. It’s the first place you wake up in the morning and where you complete your day. It can be the start of a great day or the retreat you need after a long, tough day. It’s where you sleep, rest, and rejuvenate. It’s where you dare to dream! Your bedroom is a place of relaxation, safety, love, and inspiration. You see, it’s a pretty darn important room! And speaking of important things, if you’re looking for “eicr testing near me” to ensure your electrical safety, it’s crucial to consider every aspect of your home, including your beloved bedroom.

… So my top tip for creating the perfect staycation environment is by emulating a luxe hotel room, perhaps by taking inspiration from renowned destinations like phú quốc hotels. Here is how you get started.

Clean the Clutter

Keep your accessories minimal. The nightstand should be for a lamp and maybe a picture frame and a place to put your book at night, It’s not a junk collector. Organize your closet and drawers – everything can have a place. Waking up free of clutter and chaos is the secret to starting your day with a clean and clear state of mind.

Set the Mood Lighting

Consider the light you have in your space and what kind of mood you want to set.  Bright lights in the evening will stimulate you so make sure the room is dimly lit … think a nice lamp or a dimmer switch.

If you’re considering replacing your roof, here are the new build flat roof considerations that might be useful to you.

Mastering the Mattress

Investing in a good mattress is my top tip for bedroom comfort and overall well-being. While decorating can strain your budget, don’t compromise on your bed’s quality because sleep is vital for body regeneration. Prioritize your mattress, and this is where spending more makes sense, ensuring a comfortable and restorative night’s sleep. As you invest in your mattress, remember that sleep quality impacts your health, so prioritize it and find out now if you need hospital beds for your bedroom needs.

Think of buying a bed as an investment in yourself. Spend the money on a good mattress like that on the Amerisleep Mattress Reviews!  This will change your life! (Or at least your staycation). Don’t skimp on quality.  You will either pay for it now, or pay for it later…for example, you can buy a cheap mattress that will wear out quickly, and could affect your back and your sleep. Imagine all that just to buy a new one in a year or two because you are in pain.  NOT WORTH IT!

Now choosing a mattress is a very personal experience and there is not a one size fits all. Do your research and figure out what you really like. Mattress Firm has a great selection of mattresses, and they’ve also created a custom collection with top manufacturers.

Holy Sheet

Okay, lets talk sheets …Egyptian Cotton. Thread count will make all the difference when you slide into bed at night.  After you’ve slept on a 1000 thread-count sheet, it’s hard to go back!  But they can get expensive. I however, have a sheet “hack” for all of you out there!  If you don’t have hundreds (even thousands) to spend on the high-end sheets, choose a “sateen” sheet.  They are still Egyptian cotton, but they are woven differently to give you a soft, silky feel…and you will save lots of moolah when buying these!

Design, Color & Comfort

Ok…here’s where you will meet a little controversy with your husbands, ladies.  You may love the look of many pillows, but guys don’t necessarily agree.  When you walk into a hotel room, there are usually about 10 pillows on the bed, a neutral bedspread, and a runner at the foot of the bed.  You don’t typically count the pillows – you just toss them aside, but imagine if you walked into a hotel room and there were only 2 pillows on the bed.  Pillows invite you in in a very subtle way.  They suggest “fall into me” and it puts you at peace.  Do the same thing at home!

A rule of thumb for pillows is to bring them out to about half the length of the bed.

Pick a neutral bedspread and let the colors, creativity and personality come out in the pillows you use.

Mini Bar

If you are in a hotel that has one of these, you know it’s such a treat.  So, create your own bar cart! One of the best things is the minibar, so set up a snack station.

And if you don’t have a bar cart, you can turn your bedside table into a mini bar … fill it with all your favourite snacks and beverages so tat you can just stay in, relax and enjoy!
