Give Thanks for Leftovers!

Paige

Want to know how to create an entry table that will leave your guests feeling grateful? Ken Wingard and I have teamed up again to get you giving!

We all LOVE to eat during holiday time, and Thanksgiving is typically the holiday to get us started on the eating path. I personally love all of the yummy Thanksgiving traditional treats…the turkey, the stuffing, the cranberries, the pie…all YUMMMM! The leftovers are usually way too much to eat on my own, so when I’m hosting Thanksgiving, I like to have my guests take a little bit of the love home with them. Instead of rummaging through old Tupperware that you have (and worrying about getting them back), I’ve come up with a way to decorate your entry table and have your guests feeling grateful when they leave.   It is décor that serves many purposes – your decorations decrease as people leave (less clean-up), your leftovers decrease as people leave (less clean-up again), and your guests leave full, happy and grateful for leftovers (more love)!

It’s our Thanksgiving show! Mark Steines and Cristina Ferrare welcome actors Greg Evigan and Briana Evigan from the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Once Upon a Holiday.” Actor Greg Vaughan joins us to talk about Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “The Christmas Note.” Ken Wingard and Paige Hemmis are making a last-minute centerpiece and a wonderful table for your guests to take leftovers home. Cristina cooks deep dish pizza with turkey sausage and brussels sprouts. Look fabulous this Thanksgiving; Kym Douglas is showing you trendy hairstyles and Orly Shani has great DIY lace additions to dresses. Debbie Matenopoulos, Matt Rogers, Ken Wingard, Tanya Memme, and Kristin Smith review popular, new release movies to enjoy with your family this Thanksgiving. Plus, our family shares what they are thankful for and their favorite dishes for Thanksgiving. Credit: Copyright 2015 Crown Media United States, LLC/Photographer: jeremy lee/Alexx Henry Studios, LLC

You Will Need:

  • To-go boxes (I got both large and small)
  • Decorations (I used various styles of ribbon and twine)
  • Stickers/Labels (I used Avery 2” round labels)
  • Decorative tags (I used craft/twine hang tags)
  • Frame
  • Print-out of table name
  • Wooden forks and spoons

How To:

  1. Decorate your boxes to match your décor in your house. Since I will be teaming up with Ken for a centerpiece, I chose colors that will match the colors he is using in his centerpieces. He will be using leaves, gourds, etc. so I chose brown, orange, twine to match.
  2. Design and print your labels
  3. Have some boxes out on display with other boxes in the background to fill with leftovers for your guests. Keep extra ribbon/twine to tie them up.
  4. Voila!

Share the love and be thankful!
