DIY Fall Topiary

Paige

My Autumn Topiary DIY is a seasonal decoration that you can put on your front porch to get all of your guests in the mood for Fall! Instead of the traditional topiary where it is simply three levels of greenery in the shape of a ball, I will be using pumpkins… and very fashionable pumpkins at that!

This is a great piece to decorate your home for the fall without breaking the bank too. By doing it yourself, you create a work of art for the front of your home that will look very expensive, and look like you’ve gone all out for the Fall Season.

You Will Need:

  • Paper mache pumpkins in three sizes (small, medium and large)
  • Pot Plant base for topiary, black (or any color)
  • x2 Fall leaves in a garlands
  • Glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • Any paints, embellishments that you want to use for the pumpkins (I will be using paint, glitter, bling, etc.)
  • Blue painter’s tape

How-To:

  1. Take the base and add your fall leaf garland around the edge, securing it with hot glue.
  2. Take all three pumpkins and paint them and add any decorations you would like to use.
  3. Set aside and let all three pumpkins dry.
  4. Using the hot glue gun, secure the bottom pumpkin to the topiary base.
  5. On top of the first pumpkin, add your second fall leaf garland, securing it with hot glue. If the stem of the pumpkin sticks up to high, you can cut it off using a garden clipper.
  6. Using hot glue, secure the bottom of the second pumpkin to the first pumpkin over the leaves.
  7. Using hot glue, add additional fall leaf garland to the top of the 2nd.
  8. Using hot glue, secure the bottom of the third pumpkin to the second pumpkin over the leaves.
  9. Add any additional embellishments that you would like to your topiary.
  10. Set on your front door and voila! You have achieved a fall look that is one of a kind.
